One Stop Security: Simplifying International Connections

One Stop Security: The Future of International Connections Arrives in the U.S.

Travel between global hubs and U.S. airports just got a major upgrade—meet TSA’s One Stop Security (OSS), a pilot program streamlining cross-border connections with minimal hassle.

What Is OSS?

One Stop Security lets eligible passengers arriving from certain international airports complete all required screening at departure, eliminating the need for TSA rescreening in the U.S. once they’ve landed. The pilot launched in mid‑July 2025 in collaboration with TSA, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), American Airlines, Delta, and the UK’s Department for Transport ⁣ .

Where It’s Available Right Now
• London Heathrow (LHR) to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW)—eligible connecting passengers can:
• Clear CBP at the arrival gate
• Skip baggage claim and TSA security rescreening
• Proceed directly to their U.S. domestic connection
• Delta Air Lines’ similar service will be available later in July for passengers arriving from Heathrow to Atlanta’s Hartsfield‑Jackson Airport (ATL)—but only for those using Global Entry or Mobile Passport Control ⁣ .

This is just a pilot, and only a few routes offer OSS for now, but expansion is anticipated.

🚄 Why It Matters

Significantly Faster Connections

American Airlines reports connection times roughly cut by more than half thanks to OSS. Delta says its system shaves off up to 40 minutes ⁣ .

Less Stress, More Efficiency

Travelers breeze past customs and baggage claim, skip the TSA checkpoint, and go directly to their departing gate—making U.S. connections nearly as seamless as domestic transfers.

Maintained Security, Improved Experience

TSA ensures all international departure airports meet U.S.-equivalent security standards before onboarding passengers into OSS, with no compromise to safety ⁣ .

A Broader Push Toward Travel Modernization

OSS comes alongside several changes TSA is rolling out this summer:
• End of the shoes-off rule, a security procedure in place since 2006—now rolling out broadly to improve flow while maintaining safety using advanced scanning tech ⁣ .
• “Families on the Fly”: Dedicated TSA lanes for families traveling with young children at select airports, plus a $15 discount on TSA PreCheck enrollment ⁣ .
•Lawmakers are pushing bipartisan bills to overhaul screening infrastructure and redirect security fees into upgrading baggage systems and checkpoint tech with $750 million annually in proposed funding .
